The hip & knee rehabilitation program offered at Physiomobility is focused on exercise, education and return to normal activities. The exercises shown here are to help our patients with their in-home exercise program during recovery. The exercise programs in our in-clinic sessions are modified based on our clients’ progress and ability.
We offer similar pre surgery rehabilitation program (Prehab) to patients who are preparing for knee or hip replacement operation. Clinical studies show that patients who have gone through a prehab program and are prepared for knee or hip replacement operation recover faster and return to their activities with less pain & more strength.
This library of exercises includes mobility, stretching, strengthening and functional exercises which are the most beneficial after a hip replacement surgery or to prepare our clients for their upcoming surgery. A comprehensive treatment plan after hip replacement operation includes manual therapy, pain management, education and progressive exercises. The exercises shown in these videos are only a fraction of a comprehensive hip exercise program and are meant as a reference for our patients to complement their in-clinic sessions.
You may get different instructions from your surgeon, doctor, or physiotherapist. Always follow your doctor or therapist’s instructions . If you experience unusual discomfort, stop the exercise and contact your therapist.
FOR MOST OF THESE EXERCISES, ALL YOU NEED IS A ROLLED TOWEL, A LONG STRAP OR BELT, AN ELASTIC BAND, AND A SMALL BALL.
our 6 week post operation rehabilitation program is evidence based and prepares our patients to gradually return to more complex and functional exercises which includes stair climbing, improving walking endurance, balance exercises and a lot more. The exercise program after 6 weeks is tailored to our patients’ ability and requires additional treatment sessions with our physiotherapist or kinesiologist.
