Kanako is a registered Physiotherapist with a special interest in sports physiotherapy. She has completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at University of Toronto. Kanako has experiences working with athletes, and people recovering from motor vehicle injuries, arthritis, post-surgical conditions, shoulder injuries, and chronic low back/neck pain.
Kanako believes in working together with the patients to determine and treat the root cause of the injury and to ensure that each patient’s goals are met through comprehensive assessments, treatments, and education. Kanako’s therapy integrates a combination of manual therapy skills, acupuncture, postural and kinesio taping, exercises, and electrical modalities. To ensure the most up-to-date treatments, Kanako has completed additional post-graduate training including acupuncture, level 1 Manual Therapy, and many courses through Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute.
During her free time, Kanako is an avid volleyball player with previous experiences playing competitively on a club team. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, snowboarding, and ultimate Frisbee.
