Gita Mikal is registered physiotherapist and medical acupuncture provider based in Toronto. In addition to her education in physiotherapy and acupuncture, Gita has postgraduate training & certification in pain management from the University of Alberta. Gita also has advanced post graduate training in Vestibular Rehabilitation through University of Southern California/Emory University program, American Institute of Balance and University of Pittsburgh. She is also a Shift Concussion Management trained provider. Gita has been practicing physiotherapy since 1992 and has taken extensive training in Movement Impairment Syndromes, mobilization, diverse manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription. Gita believes in applied neuromuscular training combined with education to help her patients get stronger and learn how to manage their pain and condition. The core of her treatment is based on improving function which enables her patients to not only manage their condition but achieve their full potential.

Gita treats a wide range of patients with sports injuries, orthopedic and neurological conditions of all ages. She has a special interest in treating Vestibular dysfunctions and dizziness and balance impairments, concussion, and mTBI as well as pain conditions. She identifies the root cause of symptoms and dysfunctions and combines a range of treatment options to address them. Gita also takes a preventative approach to maintain the gained results of treatment and prevent re-injury and re-occurrence. Her focus on educating patients to understand the reasons for their pain empowers her patients with the knowledge to manage the stress related to their injury and condition and helps them to achieve their health and fitness goals.
