The benefits of Pre-Natal yoga are countless. From increasing oxygen intake through proper breathing to improving flexibility and blood flow, the list is exhaustive. The expecting mother and the unborn baby both will enjoy a stretch as it create space for the baby and releases the tension of expecting mother’s muscles. Relaxation, breathing practices and meditation will benefit pregnant women in all stages of their pregnancy.
Prenatal yoga combines slow movements in safe positions with breathing techniques to generate awareness and improve the mom & baby connection. It lifts the mood by releasing endorphins into the body which benefits both mother and baby. Prenatal yoga is also proven to improve the strength of pelvic floor and abdominal muscles and prevents future organ prolapse which is commonly seen in during pregnancy and after childbirth. Yoga also aids digestion, mobilizes spinal column, relieves fatigue and tension and detoxifies body through revitalization of internal organs. Yoga is proven to alleviate common conditions and discomfort related to pregnancy such as nausea, morning sickness, constipation, circulation, edema, back pain and Sciatica.
Pre-natal yoga is safe for mommy and baby. If you have experienced a difficult pregnancy and are considering joining our Pre-Natal yoga classes, it is advisable to consult a pelvic Health Physiotherapist or your medical doctor to discuss suitability of the program.

DO YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE JOINING A SESSION?
Our instructors have extensive training and experience. We encourage our clients to consult with their primary care practitioners prior to joining a class if they have any medical issue, are pregnant or recovering from a recent surgery, injury or illness.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Positive energy, a bottle of water, small towel and your mat.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
All sessions are done in bare foot or yoga socks which provide more grip. Wear comfortable clothing for stretching and ones that keep you cool.
SHOULD I EAT BEFORE A SESSION?
Having light snacks 1 hour before a class is advisable. While we do not want you to be hungry while exercising, it is not advisable to eat a heavy meal 2-3 hours before your session.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN NOT ATTEND FREQUENTLY?
It is your body and your money. We want you to make the most out of your investment in health. It is advisable to attend two sessions per week.
