I have known Alexandru Burnaru for over two years through “physiotherapy at Don Mills” (now physiomobility at Don Mills) clinic.
Alex was responsible for specific exercises during my treatment sessions.
He was also the instructor for the group exercise classes, designed for individuals over 60 years of age, which I attended after the completion of my treatment.
Alex has been the most conscientious, careful and effective instructor. He was always paying close attention to our movements, constantly correcting our ways. I appreciated and valued his efforts to improve our moves so that we could reach our optimum.
His professionalism, attentiveness, easy manner and good humour were appreciated by all who attended these classes. He would be a great asset to any workplace in his field of expertise. "

For close to two years now, I have had the good fortune of having Alex Burnaru as my weight trainer at Physiotherapy at Don Mills. I never imagined that I would ever take up weight training, but preparing for a more challenging ballroom dance routine that included lifts, in a major dance competition, got me in the door. What has kept me coming back has been Alex’s wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and positive energy. As a dancer taking the best care of my body, and as safely as possible, is a high priority. Very quickly I came to trust Alex’s guidance. He has both a solid understanding of exercise science, and a willingness to take the time to explain my body mechanics, answering any questions I have in great detail, so I can deepen my understanding too. He has a real knack for gauging just how far he can push me in a session to see gains, varies the exercises in each session so I always feel stimulated physically and mentally, and is so effective at keeping me motivated with a great sense of humour. As a result, not only do I want to continue my training because I enjoy it so much, but I can also now truly appreciate the growth and benefits weight training have added to my life. I do know, from talking to friends who train, how rare it can be to find a trainer who is exceptional in so many areas. Working with Alex is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made because I know I am in really good hands, learning from someone who genuinely cares about the work he does, as much as the well-being of the person he works with. Having someone in my corner like that has helped to foster the confidence I have needed to break through so many self-imposed barriers and experience myself in a whole new way.

" In the spring of 2012 I injured my knee and was doing physiotherapy in order to correct it, it was at that time that I met Alex Burnaru at Physiomobility at Don Mills. I had a physiotherapy session with Alex and was so impressed by his knowledge and expertise that I knew immediately that I wanted him as my personal trainer. At the time however, I already had a personal trainer through a prepaid package at a reputable fitness club so I did not become one of Alex’s clients until I finished my training package at that gym. Alex got me into shape and helped me to understand the importance of correct form when weight training. The lessons that I learned while training with Alex have been lifelong and I am grateful for it and will continue to implement them in my training regimen. "

A few years ago, my knees hurt so bad that instead of walking, I was crawling on my hands and knees to the upper floor. I limited my walking and standing as much as I could, and I would sit around most of the time.
This year, I don't need to crawl anywhere any more! I walk, I ride my bike again, and I even won a community cross-country skiing competition!
I am conviced that I recovered so well thanks to the exercises that Gita and her staff made me to do! No other clinic dared to encourage me to exercise, because I was so afraid it would make my condition even worse. However, with the tight supervision I got at Gita's clinic - I could not move in a wrong way even if I tried! The small classes are fun, and Alex watches closely. He corrects every wrong angle - and the body has a chance to get back into a shape. I don't always feel like exercising, but I love the results!! It's amazing to be free of pain and move again!
Thank you,guyss, for your persistence! Without you, I could be shopping for a walker. Instead, I may need to get a new bike, or a new set of running shoes! After all, I am ony 56."

I am an 86 year old retired dentist whose only exercise was running, but I did run three to five miles a day for almost 40 years. (I did run 5 marathons coming in with the "walking wounded" at 4 1/2 to 5 hours. ) I really was in top physical shape until, 5 years ago i developed arthritis in one hip - and that did stop the daily running.
From being fit as a fiddle I was quickly becoming the aged and infirm since running was the only exercise I knew how to do, Then, fortunately, 3 weeks ago I went to Physiomobility," and got a diagnosis of my needs and capacity from the director, Gita Mikal, B.Sc, PT, MCPA, CAFCI. The resulting treatment plan included exercise routines for my entire body - after just 4 exercise sessions and the prescribed home exercises I am returning to my old "Gung Hio" ability and frame of mind.
There is an old saying: "If your muscles can't get you where you want to go - you are not going." I am happy to be getting my old strength back as a result of the therapy and exercise programs developed for my benefit by "Physiomobility. "

I have been a patient of Physiotherapy at Don Mills for the past 18 months, during which time I have received treatment for multiple problems in my back, neck, ankle and knees, most notably Arthritis.
For the previous thirty years I was seldom free of pain, and walking had become difficult, necessitating the use of a cane and a knee support. My pace was slow and laboured.
The treatment at Physiotherapy at Don Mills is outstanding. It is a multi-faceted approach which incorporates treatment by well qualified, very skillful Physiotherapists, supported by kinesiology staff who carry out the physical exercise training prescribed by the Physiotherapists and required to strengthen the core and specific muscle groups which support the affected areas.
Furthermore, the program provides support to sustain the gains made in strength, stability, flexibility and balance. It provides patients with confidence and a general sense of well-being, as well as helping to prevent further injury.
In addition Physiotherapy at Don Mills provides seminars on subjects such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Exercise, Nutrition, and Pain Management. All of which help to empower the patient to take responsibility for his/her own health and welfare, and help to maintain the progress made.
As a result of the treatment and ongoing support, my balance, posture and gait have improved, I no longer use a cane and rarely the knee support. Most important, I am mostly pain free.
I have recommended Gita Mikal and her superior staff at Physiotherapy at Don Mills to several of my friends and acquaintances. It was indeed my lucky day when I discovered this outstanding Physiotherapy clinic. "

I would definitely recommend Gita and her team as highly trained professionals. Results speak for themselves: during my excessive rock climbing training I ended up with a
painful tendinitis on my left arm.

"Thank-you to Gita and her staff for their therapy in 2010 and relieving the pain I was encountering. Thanks Gita for convincing me to look into a hip replacement. Dr. Cammazola at York Central Hospital performed a replacement operation Sept. 9/10. I am already coming up to my 1 year anniversary and am pain free although am slacking off a little at getting my leg back to its former strength. I am back to walking my usual pace and distance and bending using my "problem" leg. When people ask how my leg is doing, I am confused for a moment until I remember I had surgery. I read your office updates with interest but happily feel no need for any physical therapy, no offense intended!! Thanks again. Sharon T."

"I did a physio assessment at Physiotherapy at Don Mills, and Dr. Gita Mikal noticed that I have weak hip muscles that needs exercise. I've been doing the exercise for 3 weeks now and I feel much much better! I loved how friendly everybody is and their massage therapist is very good, his hands are like magic! So Far my experience is delightful and I'm planning to do Acupuncture sessions for my teeth grinding problem. Thanks Gita, Cristine, and everybody!"

"When I first started going to you in March or April of this year, I figured you would be just the same as all the rest I have been to in the last 10 years since I hurt my back, and I would quit after a few months feeling let down, yet again. When you started talking about strengthening your inner core, I thought you were crazy. The best I could do on the bike or treadmill was 5 minutes, in pain for most of that. Now I can do 20 minutes at double the speed, and I do 15 minutes on the bike everyday faster than when I started. My endurance is at least 3 times better than it was, and the pain doesn't kick in til later in whatever event I am doing. Although this is not a miracle, it is a definite improvement in my daily life, and I thank you."
