Orthopaedic/Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Miral Patel is a 2012 graduate from the Queen’s University Master’s in Physical Therapy program. She is now an orthopaedic and pelvic health physiotherapist who is also certified in medical acupuncture.
Miral has experience working in private practice clinics as well as in a public hospital since 2012. Her experience includes treating musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative rehab, as well as pelvic floor dysfunction. She enjoys working with all types of clients and believes treatment should be patient centered, individualized and include a combination of manual therapy, exercise therapy, and most importantly, patient education.
Miral values continuing education and has taken numerous post-graduate courses in the areas of acupuncture, advanced manual therapy and pelvic floor dysfunction. Her special interest in pelvic floor dysfunction has led her to work alongside an urologist at the Toronto Western Hospital to advance her knowledge of pelvic floor conditions in both men and women. Common pelvic floor conditions that can be treated with pelvic floor physiotherapy include, but are not limited to urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, constipation and gastro-intestinal disorders. Miral also has extensive experience working with women both pre-natal and post-partum to ensure a healthy pelvic floor both before and after giving birth. Â
When Miral is not in clinic, she can be found enjoying the outdoors or indulging in good food.
